Enhancing Connectivity at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park: New Pathway Delivered at Pool Street

Kenson Highways is proud to be working in partnership with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and Newham Council on our latest improvement scheme at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, focused on Pool Street — an area that also serves the iconic London Aquatics Centre.

Improving Access to a World-Class Destination

As the first stage of this project, our team has successfully delivered a new pedestrian and cycle pathway providing a direct route to the West Ham United London Stadium. This route is used by thousands of people throughout the year, not only on matchdays but also during the many concerts and large-scale events hosted at the stadium.

The new pathway plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient movement of visitors while improving the overall experience of travelling through the park.

Key Benefits of the Upgrade

The completed works have delivered a number of important improvements, including:

Creating a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians and cyclists Improving crowd flow and connectivity, particularly during major events Enhancing the area with a fresh, modern appearance that reflects the park’s status as a major public destination

In the coming weeks, the space will be further enhanced with new trees and planting, helping to soften the streetscape, improve biodiversity, and create a more welcoming environment for visitors.

Building Better Public Spaces Together

This project demonstrates the value of collaborative working between local authorities, development partners, and delivery teams. By investing in high-quality public realm improvements, we are helping to create infrastructure that supports movement, safety, and memorable experiences for all who visit the park.

At Kenson Highways, we are proud to be playing our part in delivering long-lasting improvements at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park — paving the way for vibrant, accessible public spaces, one step at a time.
