Supporting Community Connections: Kenson Highways Facilitates Iftar Celebration in Clayhall

At Kenson Highways, we believe that infrastructure is about more than roads — it’s about building connections between people and communities. That’s why we were proud to play a role in a recent community initiative that brought people together during the holy month of Ramadan.

In collaboration with Redbridge Council, we supported a temporary road closure for Clayhall Islamic Centre’s street gathering in celebration of Iftar — the evening meal that marks the end of each day’s fast during Ramadan.

Led by Dhiresh Bhatt, Head of Highways at Redbridge Council, this initiative was designed to create a safe, accessible space for the local Muslim community to come together and observe this important cultural and religious tradition.

Our team at Kenson Highways worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure the event ran smoothly, prioritizing safety and accessibility for both attendees and road users. Minimising disruption while facilitating an inclusive space was at the heart of this effort — and we’re proud to have supported such a positive and unifying event.

Initiatives like this highlight the power of infrastructure to support more than transport — to foster community spirit, promote cultural understanding, and help create a more connected and inclusive borough.

We’re grateful to have contributed to this celebration and look forward to supporting more community-focused projects in the future.
