Milestone Reached on the Enfield Town to Broxbourne Walking and Cycling Route

Kenson Highways is proud to be delivering key elements of the Enfield Town to Broxbourne Walking and Cycling Route—an ambitious project aimed at improving sustainable transport infrastructure and supporting healthier, greener travel choices across North London.

One of the most significant milestones to date has recently been achieved: the successful installation of the new Turkey Brook Bridge. The structure has now been lifted into place, securely bolted together, and fitted with parapets, creating a vital new link in the route.

This new crossing forms part of a continuous corridor that will make it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle between Enfield and Broxbourne. Once complete, the route will provide a high-quality, accessible pathway through green spaces and residential areas, encouraging more people to opt for active modes of transport in their everyday journeys.

With the bridge now in place, attention has turned to completing the connecting paths on either side. These works are progressing well, with completion targeted for the end of April. An official opening of the route is anticipated in May, marking the culmination of extensive collaboration between delivery partners, design teams, and local authorities.

We would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in bringing the project to this stage. The collective effort from our site team, the client, and project partners has been instrumental in maintaining momentum and ensuring the high standard of delivery expected on a scheme of this importance. We’re also pleased to have captured detailed images of the bridge installation, helping to document and share this key moment in the project’s progress.

We look forward to seeing the route in use soon, playing a vital role in enabling safer, more sustainable travel for the communities it serves.
