Recently, we had the privilege of supporting the Clayhall Islamic Centre and the local community in organizing a vibrant Iftar Street Party on Heathcote Avenue.
A Quick Response for a Special Event
The request for a road closure came through the strategy team, with the goal of hosting an Iftar Street Party to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. The event was designed to bring together people from all walks of life and various faiths, to celebrate community spirit.
Despite the short notice, the Highways team worked swiftly and collaboratively with Kenson Highways to ensure everything was in place. From consulting on the necessary traffic order to planning and implementing the traffic management system, we ensured that the road closure went smoothly and that the event could go ahead without any issues.
Our dedicated team also worked closely with emergency services, ensuring that they were fully informed of the closure and could continue their essential work without disruption. This commitment to safety is at the heart of everything we do, and it was crucial to ensure the Iftar Street Party was a safe space for all who attended.
