Kenson Highways was honoured to join the Mayor for the official opening of the Royal Docks Corridor, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of this transformative infrastructure project.
The opening ceremony celebrated the successful completion of a scheme designed to create a safer, greener and more accessible corridor for walking, cycling and everyday travel throughout the area. The project represents an important step forward in supporting sustainable transport, improving public spaces and enhancing connectivity across the Royal Docks.
The Mayor’s support and attendance at the event highlighted the importance of the project and recognised the collective effort of all those involved in bringing the scheme to life. The completion of the corridor reflects the strong partnership working between The Royal Docks Team, the London Borough of Newham, Kenson Highways and the wider project stakeholders.
Throughout the delivery of the project, community engagement and local feedback played a key role in shaping the scheme. The positive response and enthusiasm from residents and visitors have been invaluable and demonstrate the impact that well-designed public infrastructure can have on local communities.
The Royal Docks Corridor is more than just a completed infrastructure project — it represents the beginning of a new chapter for the area. By prioritising people, sustainability and vibrant public spaces, the scheme will help encourage active travel, improve accessibility and create a more welcoming environment for future generations.
Kenson Highways would like to thank all partners, stakeholders and members of the local community who supported the project from start to finish. We are proud to have contributed to a scheme that will deliver long-term benefits for the Royal Docks and the wider borough.
